Raidió Teilifís Éireann is a semi-state company and the national public service broadcaster of Ireland. It both produces programmes and broadcasts them on television, radio and the Internet. The radio service began on 1 January 1926, while regular television broadcasts began on 31 December 1961, making it one of the oldest continuously operating public service broadcasters in the world. RTÉ also publishes a weekly magazine called the RTÉ Guide which is orientated around RTÉ television and radio.RTÉ is financed by a television licence fee and through advertising. Some RTÉ services are only funded by advertising, while other RTÉ services are only funded by the licence fee. RTÉ is a statutory body, run by a board appointed by the Government of Ireland. General management of the organisation is in the hands of the Executive Board headed by the Director-General. RTÉ is regulated by the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland. Radio Éireann, RTÉ's predecessor and at the time a section of the Department of Posts and Telegraphs, was one of 23 founding organisations of the European Broadcasting Union in 1950.HistoryThis section deals with the history of RTÉ as an organisation. For details on this history of the various services see the separate articles on those services. This is Jingle Town, happy, jolly and full of fun, but Jingle Town has a new Mayor, and he is intent on stamping out all music, singing and fun from the town. His motto is work work and then more work! His evil, yet bumbling gremlins do his dirty work around the town, throwing into jail anyone singing or having a good time. He has arrested Santa Claus and now Jingle Town has lost its jingle.
The Jingle Town chimney sweeps are a boy called Jesse and a Bear called Dusty, can they save the town with the help of their new friend Rocky the Dragonfly and maybe you?
Jingle Town is heart warming live interactive show, full of excitement, action and adventure.
Children will get to meet Santa and some of the characters of the show individually afterwards and have their photo taken with their favourite hero!
Jingle Town is fun for all the family.
Every piece has a story...
OZRA Living specialises in handcrafted, designer ceramic homeware and jewellery made in Dublin, Ireland. Our ranges are inspired by the landscapes, nature and culture of Ireland and beyond - the mystical Irish coastline, a fallen coconut found on an exotic island, antique Rajasthani textile stamps, tropical fungi, mythical creatures and Pre-Columbian art.
Our designs combine rustic, earthy yet sleek and contemporary aesthetics. Every piece is timeless. We believe that objects alchemised from clay using such ancient methods should retain a natural quality - which is why we have chosen the medieval alchemy symbol for earth as our logo.
We wish to add an alternative selection to the mass produced homeware that surrounds us. In a world where globalisation has rendered everything homogeneous, the prospect of an affordable object with provenance and heritage, created by an actual person, using unique skills, is becoming increasingly desirable. Each piece is one of a kind, created by a multi award winning Irish artist and designer.
As seen on RTE, The Irish Times, the Irish Sun and Ceramics Now Magazine.
