One of the oldest pubs in Kemp Town, the Barley Mow has long been famed for our fantastic selection of real ales - we currently sell six - with a focus on the excellent beers provided by local breweries. The selection is always changing, so you'll have to keep coming back!
We serve delicious, homemade pub grub from midday til 9pm Monday to Saturday & midday til 8pm on Sundays, with a full menu, a mini version for smaller appetites, a chilli-con-carne (and chilli-con-veggie) menu and daily specials boards. If you're just in the mood for a sweet treat, we've got an old-fashioned tuck shop that'll take you right back to your childhood!
A wide range of food and drink including a large selection of real ale. Affordable, inviting staff and atmosphere, family friendly, open until late
Formerly a pub called Jackson’s Wharf, this large, two-storey building takes its name from its location on the marina’s west quay. Located at the foot of the cliffs at Black Rock, east of the city centre, Brighton Marina was officially opened in 1979. The marina has since been developed in stages, acquiring its first public house (The Master Mariner) in 1987. Jackson’s Wharf was granted planning permission in December 1998 and began trading soon after.

The Crown is a small, one-room, hole-in-the-wall public house. It is of a type once prevalent in Brighton but now very rare.
It has a long and illustrious history and in the past has hosted many notable drinkers including the actors Laurence Olivier and Frank Findlay. Also author Graham Greene who mentions The Crown in his classic novel 'Brighton Rock'.
We have a fine range of cask ales and ciders and have recently introduced a new English craft lager to the menu.
We host an extremely popular 'Open Mic.' evening on Bi-weekly Thursdays and are looking to increase our musical events in the near future.
We play an eccentric collection of music ranging from sixties crooning during the day and into folk, prog and jazz in the evenings.
We also have crisps.
It's good fun and our beer is superb. See you there.
This is the current running Facebook page of Doctor Brightons it will be a work in process from on.

To walk through the door of this real find of a pub is to step back in time to the days of Victorian splendour - thick carpets, pictures on walls and ceilings and a comfy, homely atmosphere.
There has been a pub on this site since 1547 and the original Landlord, one Derrick Carver was burnt as a martyr for his religious beliefs. One of its' most famous "guests" in the past has been "Jack the Ripper" - and in The Greene Room bar, (upstairs), you can spend some time following the story of his origins and how he planned his murders from this very spot. This is also the famous pub immortalised by Graham Greene in his classic novel "Brighton Rock".
This unique pub has a charm all of its' own and attracts locals, business people and visitors from all around the World who enjoy the atmosphere of a true Victorian public house along with good beer and quality food served til late. Its central location lends itself perfectly to work parties and gatherings. Call the pub on 01273 329472 for details on private hire options, buffets and party packages.
