We cater exclusively to a certain type of rock climbing called bouldering that is carried out at low levels over crash mats, without the aid of ropes. This style of climbing is extremely accessible for beginners as it doesn't require any specialist equipment or experience. It's also perfect for city living as you can drop in after work and train for a few hours in a more social and fun environment than the gym, before heading home without a suitcase full of kit. The centre has well over 100 routes that are clearly graded and cater to all levels. We designed the centre with a leading climbing wall construction company so it promises to be a venue that will keep you entertained even if you're with us seven days a week. We're located just 30 seconds walk from Parsons Green underground station on the district line and we'll be open until 10.30pm weekday evenings, as we know from experience how frustrating it can be trying to fit in a decent session if you're working late. We want you guys to enjoy each visit as much as possible so we'll also have a cafe, viewing deck with sofas and a bouldering shop for you to use when you're not climbing. Something for you climbers From living, working and climbing in London ourselves, we know what you're looking for in an indoor centre and what you're not! We've worked hard to design the layout of the centre so it flows, even at busy times, so no single area becomes too congested. Alongside this, we're making a commitment to regular and - more importantly - quality route setting, which will only be carried out by individuals with considerable experience. Finally, we're aiming to create a friendly and social atmosphere where you'll want to spend your time. Something for you beginners Rock climbing is a great way to keep fit, build strength and agility, and have fun. It can be difficult getting motivated to hit the gym three nights a week, so we're offering you an enjoyable alternative. From our own experience of trying to introduce friends to climbing in the past, we found it difficult because different areas of the centre catered for different abilities - separating groups and leaving the most interesting climbing to the highest grades. We're creating a centre where routes of all grades cover all areas of the climbing surface, allowing mixed abilities to climb together. Something for schools We've been working closely with Hammersmith and Fulham borough council for the last 12 months in order to design a centre that can cater for school children learning to climb. Lessons can be incorporated into the school syllabus and will help introduce children to a new sport, which they would otherwise not have come into contact with. We will also be running after school clubs for those who wish to continue climbing in their own time, as well as organising inter-school bouldering competitions to encourage participation. We hope to see you all very soon! Urban Ascent

The Yeo dojo sets out to improve an individuals confidence in all situations through the mastery of ones body. This is on a physical and then a spiritual level. Through the Bujinkan system you will learn efficient standup techniques with both weapons and un-armed. This style is over 1000 years old and has been tested during the feudal period of Japan. There are six schools of Jij-Jitsu and three schools of Ninjutsu. The Gracie system will teach you probably the best ground fighting system there is. It will also give you a reality check as to what will work and what won't through sparring. If you don't spar how do you know if a technique will work? This system will also teach you to flow with your techniques as well as drastically improving your physical fitness. "95% of all fights go to the ground and yet probably only 5% of martial artists are adequately prepared, Gracie Jiu Jitsu seeks to redress this balance" - Rickson Gracie. These two styles together offer any individual a fully rounded practical knowledge of martial arts. Most styles specialise in either kicking and punching or grappling. To be truly rounded as a martial artist, you must know both!

Earl's Court is a district in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in central London, bordering the sub-districts of South Kensington to the east, West Kensington to the west, Chelsea to the south and Kensington to the north. The Earl's Court Exhibition Centre was one of the country's largest indoor arenas and a popular concert venue until its closure in 2014.HistoryEarly historyEarl's Court was once a rural area, covered with green fields and market gardens. The Saxon Thegn Edwin held the lordship of the area prior to the Norman Conquest. For over 500 years the land, part of the ancient manor of Kensington, was under the lordship of the Vere family, the Earls of Oxford and descendants of Aubrey de Vere I, who held the manor of Geoffrey de Montbray, bishop of Coutances, in Domesday Book in 1086. By circa 1095, his tenure had been converted, and he held Kensington directly of the crown. A church had been constructed there by 1104. The earls held their manorial court where Old Manor Yard is now, just by the London Underground station. Earl's Court Farm is visible on Greenwood's map of London dated 1827.Railway lineThe construction of the Metropolitan District Railway station in 1865–69 was a catalyst for development. In the quarter century after 1867, Earl's Court was transformed into a densely populated suburb with 1,200 houses and two churches. Eardley Crescent and Kempsford Gardens were built between 1867 and 1873, building began in Earl's Court Square and Longridge Road in 1873, in Nevern Place in 1874, in Trebovir Road and Philbeach Gardens in 1876, and Nevern Square in 1880.
