Bill Granger on Granger & Co Clerkenwell:
'With Granger & Co Clerkenwell I wanted to create, not just an inviting spot where you can relax, dine and indulge, but also something a bit different. The area is a creative hub so I wanted to inject some glamour into the restaurant, while at the same time keeping things classic. Climbing the stairs into the bright, airy restaurant, an array of freshly baked tarts, cakes and slices are laid out on a terrazzo slab. Tall windows look out over treetops and 1960s Italian lamps create a soft glow in the evening. This is a place for sharing small dishes and pizzettas over a cocktail, or two.'

The Mary Ward Adult Education Centre is part of the Mary Ward Settlement, in Queen Square, London.HistoryIt was founded by Mary Augusta Ward, a Victorian novelist and founding president of the Women's National Anti-Suffrage League, better known by her married name Mrs Humphrey Ward. The original name of the institution was the Passmore Edwards Settlement, as it was part of the settlement movement, and was financed by John Passmore Edwards. The settlement began in 1890 as University Hall, located in Gordon Square. Now named the Mary Ward Centre, it is located in Bloomsbury, an area of central London known for its literary and educational heritage. Its original 1898 building at 5 Tavistock Place, just off Tavistock Square, was designed by Arnold Dunbar Smith and Cecil Claude Brewer and is considered to be a masterpiece of late Victorian architecture and is considered to be one of the best Arts and Crafts buildings in London. In a speech to mark the opening of the Settlement in 1898 Mary Ward stated its mission as: “education, social intercourse, and debate of the wider sort, music, books, pictures, travel”. She added: “It is these that make life rich and animated, that ease the burden of it, that stand perpetually between a man and a woman and the darker, coarser temptations of our human road”. According to the Mary Ward House Conference and Exhibition Centre it is a listed Grade 1 building.

The P21 Gallery is an ambitious project in the making, to be an independent London-based non-profit making organisation set up to promote modern Arab art and culture with special focus on Palestine. The gallery is located in architect-designed premises in the heart of London’s Kings Cross, near the British Library. It provides contemporary display spaces and installation areas with facilities to be used for a range of public functions, from presenting art and performance to running workshops and exhibits for training and education. The gallery has a reference library, meeting room, lecture space and a café.
In spite of political and logistical difficulties, Arabs in general and Palestinians in particular see their artistic and cultural activities as one of the binding forces that give Arab societies their identity at a time of fragmentation. But an awareness of the quality and variety of Arab art and culture is absent from Western society.
The P21 Gallery will provide a showcase for these activities, bringing Arab artists and their work before a British audience. London is the centre of a thriving modern and contemporary art scene and Arab artists can contribute to that scene through work, which is comparable with – and yet different from – the best contemporary artists in the UK.

Why a mix between France and Italy?
Because that’s where La Gourmandina's owners are from: Marie was born and raised in France, in the Alps region, while her husband, Stefano, is native from Venice, Italy.
What is (and is not) La Gourmandina:
We like to define ourselves as “French and Italian Enogastronomic Ambassadors”.
Most of the products you will find in our deli and shop areas are coming from small and medium size producers who are still working in an artisan way. We have selected them because of their quality, the story they are telling and the way they represent a specific terroir.
As we have no intention of stealing the producers’ thunder, you won’t find any La Gourmandina's label.
Our “only” role is to bring these amazing cheeses, cured meats, pasta, oils, wines, etc… directly to you and give you the possibility to enjoy them comfortably seated in our Tasting and Deli rooms, or to take them back with you, to the office or for home.
We are not a restaurant, so don’t expect any pretentious dish on the menu. Our products are served in the simplest way, because we believe that when the product is good, it speaks for itself.
Bon Appétit – Buon Appetito!
Welcome to a truly sensory culinary experience !
