The Swedish Institute Management Programme aims to establish a strong global network of leaders from Asia, Northern Europe and Africa. The programme targets managers in senior positions and focuses on successful and sustainable businesses based on corporate social responsibility (CSR). The management programme is designed to uncover the advanced concepts, practical tools and primary skills required from a leader in today’s political and global business arena. The wider goal of the programme is to build an active network of people interested in promoting improved relations and business cooperation between the participating countries and Sweden. Sweden is considered one of the leading countries in sustainable business practice. Swedish companies take a prominent role in finding new innovative ways to integrate social, environmental and ethical concerns into their core business models. However, the programme is a reciprocal effort. Sweden seeks to learn from the countries involved, gain new and lasting networks, and strengthen the concept of corporate social responsibility. For alumni of the Swedish Institute Management Programme, we also grant funding for projects aiming at strengthening the relations between Sweden and the participating countries. Read more about the programmes in our different regions at www.si.se/managementprogramme.

The Parliament House, is the seat of the parliament of Sweden, the Riksdag. It is located on nearly half of Helgeandsholmen, in the Gamla stan district of central Stockholm.ArchitectureThe building complex was designed by Aron Johansson in the Neoclassical style, with a centered Baroque Revival style facade section. Parliament House was constructed between 1897 and 1905.In 1889, a competition had been held to select a design for the new Parliament building, that Johansson won. Upon opening, it replaced the Old Riksdag Building (Gamla Riksdagshuset) on Riddarholmen (island). The two buildings of the complex were originally constructed to house the Riksdag in one, and the Sveriges Riksbank (Swedish National Bank) in the second, of a semicircular shape.Assembly Hall expansionAfter the bicameral Riksdag was replaced by a unicameral legislature in 1971, and the bank relocated, the building housing the bank was rebuilt to house the new Assembly Hall. During the construction, the Parliament moved into temporary premises in the newly erected Kulturhuset (House of Culture) south of Sergels Torg, also in central Stockholm.

Katarina kyrka is one of the major churches in central Stockholm, Sweden. The original building was constructed 1656 - 1695. It has been rebuilt twice after being destroyed by fires, the second time during the 1990s. The Katarina-Sofia borough is named after the parish and the neighbouring parish of Sofia.Construction of the church started during the reign of Charles X of Sweden, and the church is named after Princess Catherine, mother of the king, wife of John Casimir, Palsgrave of Pfalz-Zweibrücken and half-sister of Gustavus Adolphus. The original architect was Jean de la Vallée. The construction was severely delayed due to shortage of funds. In 1723 the church, together with half of the buildings in the parish, was completely destroyed in a major fire. Rebuilding started almost immediately, under supervision of Göran Josua Adelcrantz, the city architect, who designed a larger, octagonal tower.May 17, 1990, the church burned down again. Almost nothing but the external walls remained. Architect Ove Hidemark was responsible for rebuilding the church, which was reopened in 1995. The new organ was built by J. L. van den Heuvel Orgelbouw in the Netherlands.
