With eight restaurants in Copenhagen and one in Hamburg alongside ours in London, MASH is the brainchild of Copenhagen Concepts. Co-founded by Danish sommelier and restaurateur Jesper Boelskifte and his partners Erik Gemal, Francis Cardenau, Peter Trauboth and Mikkel Glahn, the company had already enjoyed much success with the renowned Le Sommelier and UMAMI. It was their shared ambition to bring the style and quality of the finest American steakhouses to Denmark, whilst simultaneously offering a real alternative to trends such as molecular gastronomy and Nordic cuisine that were then dominating the Danish restaurant scene. In just three years, MASH’s blend of sophisticated modern New York-style steakhouse, imbued with a twist of Danish informal eating and drinking, has seen it become one of the nation’s most successful restaurant groups. MASH London will see the brand export its simple but exceptional premise: premium quality steaks from the world’s finest cattle, a superb wine list that matches the excellence of the food and passionate, knowledgeable and dedicated staff, all in a location that creates a unique atmosphere.
Balans Soho Society brings its bohemian spirit to London, creating a café, restaurant, bar and member’s establishment where normal rules don’t apply. Reflecting the eccentric ethos of Soho, Balans Soho Society is a refuge for bon vivants, dreamers and anyone who embraces the indulgent side of life.
Offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, and morale boosting cocktails, the Balans Soho Society menu reflects the restaurant’s libertine outlook.
La Tante Claire was a restaurant in London which opened in 1977 and closed in 2004. Owned and operated by Pierre Koffmann, it gained three Michelin stars in 1983, and held all three until the restaurant moved premises in 1998.DescriptionLa Tante Claire opened in 1977 at Royal Hospital Road, Chelsea. The signature dish of the restaurant was pig’s trotter with chicken mousseline, sweetbreads and morels; which when served elsewhere by Marco Pierre White, are referred to as "Pig's Trotters Pierre Koffmann". Within six years of opening, the restaurant gained its third Michelin star. The restaurant moved from the original premises in 1998, moving to a location within The Berkeley hotel. Following the closure of the Royal Hospital Road, the premises were sold to Gordon Ramsay and would become his flagship restaurant. In the new location, the restaurant lost its third Michelin star and was reduced to two before closing in 2003.In 2009, Koffmann opened a pop-up restaurant at Selfridges in London using the menu items from La Tante Claire. In 2010, Koffmann opened his first full-time restaurant since La Tante Claire, Koffmann's, at The Berkeley hotel, the same hotel as La Tante Claire used to be at, although at a different location within the hotel.
Dolphin Square is a block of private flats and business complex built near the River Thames at Pimlico in London, between 1935 and 1937. At one time, the huge development was home to more than 70 MPs, and at least 10 Lords. At the time of its construction the development of 1,250 up-market flats was billed, according to Sir Nikolaus Pevsner as the "largest self-contained block of flats in Europe" and, to an extent, their design has been a model for later municipal developments.HistoryThe Dolphin Square development is situated on the former works of the developer and builder Thomas Cubitt, who created the surrounding Pimlico district in the 19th-century. An Army clothing factory was built on the site after Cubitt's death, standing until 1933, when the leasehold on the site reverted to the Duke of Westminster. An American company, the Frederick French Corporation, bought the freehold for the site from the Duke, with plans to build a large residential development, Ormonde Court. The precarious financial situation of the Frederick French Corporation resulted in the sale of the site to Richard Rylands Costain (founder of the nascent Costain Group), who began construction on his own development in 1935.
