Baden-Powell House, colloquially known as B-P House, is a Scouting hostel and conference centre in South Kensington, London, which was built as a tribute to Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting. The house, owned by The Scout Association, hosts a small exhibition relating to Scouting in its current form and a granite statue by Don Potter. The building committee, chaired by Sir Harold Gillett, Lord Mayor of London, purchased the site in 1956, and assigned Ralph Tubbs to design the house in the modern architectural style. The foundation stone was laid in 1959 by World Chief Guide Olave, Lady Baden-Powell, and it was opened in 1961 by Queen Elizabeth II. The largest part of the £400,000 cost was provided by the Scout Movement itself. Over the years, the house has been refurbished several times, so that it now provides modern and affordable lodging for Scouts, Guides, their families and the general public staying in London. The building also hosts conference and event space for hire.HistoryActing on a 1942 initiative by Chief Scout Lord Somers, a formal Baden-Powell House Committee was established by The Scout Association in 1953 under the direction of Sir Harold Gillett, later Lord Mayor of London. The committee's directive was to build a hostel to provide Scouts a place to stay at reasonable cost while visiting London. For this purpose, in 1956 the committee purchased a bombed-out property at the intersection of Cromwell Road and Queen's Gate at a cost of £39,000.

New Movement Collective (NMC) is a generation of dance artists collectively redefining the boundaries of choreography and performance through ambitious, cross-disciplinary work. With a long collaborative working history as creators and performers we have rapidly established a reputation for innovation, producing work that challenges theatrical orthodoxies and creatively responds to unconventional performance settings.
The success of our productions has been recognised through a number of award nominations including Best Independent Company in the UK Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards.
NMC consists of 11 artists working without a lead creative director. Together we have created a laboratory from which we can develop innovative, large-scale work that responds to our rapidly changing modern world and pushes our art form forward. We strongly believe that our unique working model unlocks new possibilities for dance and collaborative arts practices.
At the heart of this approach lies an ongoing reconsideration of the relationship between performer and spectator, acknowledging that both are active partners in performance. Placing the two alongside each other in the same arena, we invite a close encounter with dance, stimulating the senses and activating the imagination. This powerfully immediate experience of movement, sound and other media encourages curiosity and compels action, and in doing so, expands the possibilities of where choreography is manifested.
Through each new production and our growing network of collaborators across numerous art forms, NMC aims to re-evaluate the position of dance in performance and what the experience of movement can be.
Nova Music is a West London based booking agent, promoter and artist developer. We pride ourselves on the strong relationships we have built with artists of all genres. Being musicians, producers and DJ's ourselves, the Nova team take a unique stance in that we are in tune with the needs and wishes of musicians; we too have experienced the frustration of dealing with bad promoters and venues and therefore always aim to look after the musicians we deal with and represent at every stage of their musical career. It is this that has allowed Nova to build up a vast collection of musicians, DJ's, producers and cover acts and create long standing loyal relationships with musicians we look after.
We host nights of all shapes and sizes called 'Nova presents' in venues across London.
We host monthly industry showcase nights at Notting Hill Arts Club called Over & Over showcasing the best of our roster, the best acts we have hosted at other Nova presents nights and new acts on our radar.
Nova provide an act booking/line up programming service for a selection of popular festivals, and venues across the UK.
We also provide function bands, live acts and high profile artist bookings for private parties, weddings, corporate functions and private events.
Nova has recently opened up NAS (Nova Artist Services) to aid musicians in the next steps of their musical career focussing on publishing, distribution and marketing and tailoring each development project to the individual artist and their needs. NAS provides a refreshing new take on the standard record label formula highlighting its inflexibility in many cases. Most importantly, NAS keeps the artist at the helm of their own musical journey and holds transparency and honesty at the heart of all its endeavours.
Nova also provide music for sync, radio and TV wether it be a piece of music to brief from one of our in house composers or an original piece of music from the catalogue of music produced by our diverse roster.

Under new ownership and management, the restaurant and nightclub has undergone a glamorous £2 million refurbishment, and, like a phoenix from the ashes is set to become the place to see and be seen once more.
The Chelsea institution will open to invited members and guests from mid October with a series of launch parties and a ridiculously glamorous crowd are already planning their autumn events at what is set to be London’s hottest new venue.
Barbarella will combine decadent style with luxurious and laidback comfort. Imagine dancing on the tables, but in your own home. The 100 seater restaurant will showcase a mixture of delicious, classic food alongside a selection innovative and unique cocktails.
But that’s not all.
At 11pm every night the restaurant will turn into a nightclub. With the best DJs in the city getting party-goers into the Barbarella spirit. To give guests that extra something special, a glamorous array of hostesses will tantalise diners with a unique jelly shot menu guaranteed to make proceedings go with a bang. Barbarella will have a sleek house party vibe but without hassle of having to clean up in the morning.
Offering dinner, drinks and dancing Barbarella is designed to be your go-to destination for an entire evening of fun from start to finish. Let the debauchery begin.
Spearheading the re-launch is entrepreneur, socialite and public relations man Jack Freud, whose extensive experience in restaurants and nightclubs has taken him everywhere from the notorious Pharmacy restaurant to The Groucho Club.
Helping Jack restore Barbarella to its former glory is Alice Wilson, the doyenne of nightclubs. She, of Raffles and The Brompton Club fame, will be injecting that little bit of magic to proceedings.
And last but not least is nightclub impresario Nick Valentine, the co founder The Cuckoo Club and a man who definitely knows how to keep London’s most high maintenance partygoers coming back for more.
Jack Freud said: “We’re delighted to be able to bring back an institution in the heart of Chelsea. 2012 has proved such an incredible year of celebrations for our capital, we’re delighted to be a part of it by giving Londoners somewhere to continue the party.”
Barbarella is back. And the buzz has already started.

The Silk Gallery was established in 1989 and is a leading UK based design house for furnishing fabrics. Kathryn Thimpson originated the business when as a leading interior designer she was determined to create a collection of fabrics in the specific colours which her projects then required but were generally unavailable.
Kathryn designs and sources her own fabrics and in doing so was from the outset determined to ensure that all manufacture is undertaken under her supervision in the United Kingdom. The Silk Gallery remains a very British Company in the sense that (uniquely in today’s industry for a company of its size and influence) its entire range of fabrics is either woven or hand printed in the UK.
Timeless classical themes have always been the inspiration for The Silk Gallery’s innovative designs. The creativity of the designs is also evident in the production process itself. The core fabric used is silk, but through years of experience and testing the company has developed yam combinations that enhance both durability and the natural characteristics of the silk. New and distinctive texture, totally unique to The Silk Gallery have been created by teaming silk with linen cotton, wool and polyester; offering fabrics in a combination of qualities and weights in a wide variety of uses.
A major part of the work undertaken by The Silk Gallery is on bespoke commission, working closely with customers or their interior designers creating custom coloured fabrics. More recently the company has introduced a complementary range of ornate trimmings, including fringes, gimps and tiebacks, some of which include glamorous Swarovski crystal. The new trimming ranges may also be custom coloured to suit the designer;s specific schemes.
