Unlike its name would suggest, The Somers Town Coffee House is less of a coffee spot and more of an old British boozer with a twist… You’ll find this gem of a pub tucked away on Chalton Street, a stone’s throw from Euston station; think rugged wooden tables, comfy armchairs and a plethora of pints to pick from. Have yourself a good ol’ snoop around the bookcase in the back though and you might just unearth a little hidden secret. Yep, a uniquely-designed, themed dining space – known as Ssshh Supper Club – there are four different rooms, each with its own quirky interior (one has grass!). But that’s not all. Venture downstairs and you’ll find Cosy Kettle, the speakeasy cocktail club where tasty expertly-mixed tipples are served into the the early hours of the morning…long after the main pub has closed! All of this would mean nothing if Somers Town Coffee House didn’t deliver on food and drink – fortunately, it does! The pub boasts a whopping 12 craft ales alongside a stunning selection of lagers, wines, spirits, soft drinks and hot drinks. The grub is equally impressive with an all-day menu of scrumptious British classics and yummy desserts. Finally, as if all of this wasn’t enough (you’re demanding, you!) this Central London watering hole also sports a sun-blushed hidden garden. What was that? You’ve found Heaven? We thought so.

Bar Pepito
Distance: 0.2 mi Tourist Information
3 Varnishers Yard
London, N1 9FD

020 7841 7331

“Sherry is an expression of wine and wood as vivid and beautiful as any in the world, a more druggingly delicious wine than you have ever tasted” (Hugh Johnson MW, Jancis Robinson MW, The World Atlas of Wine) Bar Pepito opened its doors in March 2010 across the courtyard from Camino in King’s Cross. It’s an intimate Andalusian bodega specializing in the most exciting styles of sherry, and mixes the best traditions from Jerez with a refreshing up to date approach. We put our heart and soul into the project, with several research trips to this unique and very special part of Spain (as if we needed the excuse). Although at the time sherry was far from cool, we’ve always believed in this brilliant drink and its extraordinary flavours, from the driest wines in the world to the sweetest. In fact, we’ll happily argue that it’s the world’s greatest food-matching wine – try our tasting menu and see! We were thrilled and amazed by the amount of press our opening generated. One of our greatest moments was winning Time Out’s Bar of the Year in 2010, cementing our humble belief that Pepito is one of the best bars in London! Nowadays it’s cool to drink sherry, and we’re immensely proud that we were at the forefront of the ‘sherry revolution’. And when the owners of significant bodegas in Jerez came to visit, they looked around the room, checked the style and materials we used, and declared that were it not for the cloudy skies outside they could well be in Jerez.

King's Cross is London's most fascinating neighbourhood - loosely defined by the area around the station to the north for about a mile, south, east and west about half a mile. Covered by the boroughs of Camden and Islington. Happy to give local businesses, organisations and causes a chance to promote themselves, but please consider the audience and don't post more than one self-promotional thing per week. Please be nice in the comments - it's possible to get across even controversial views politely. Several people write here in the guise of 'King's Cross', watch out for initials at the end of posts to identify who's written what.

Rough Luxe

1 Birkenhead Street
London, WC1H 8

+44 207 837 5338

This is Rough Luxe. Half rough, half luxury. A little bit of luxury in a rough part of London. A little bit of rough in a luxurious London. Our Grade II listed home was transformed by internationally acclaimed designer Rabih Hage in 2008 and our philosophy is simple: You are staying with us in our home, so just ask us for anything you need. Guests at a Rough Luxe hotel might have a small room or a small shower cubicle, but the luxury is in the choice of the wine, the bed linen, the art on the walls and the people looking after you. Apart from a sumptuous breakfast, we don't serve food. London has some amazing restaurants - we couldn’t compete and so we don’t. We will be happy to try and get you into a restaurant, either one of our favourites or one of yours. If you are stuck for something to do in the evening, let us know and you can either eat with us or we can go out and grab a bite. Our look is a mix of old and new, furniture and art; combining colours and beautiful fabrics with cheap materials and existing distressed original walls. Cheap materials are treated as precious items and preserved for their beauty and memory of the site.

‘A sanctuary of peace and calm where you can relax and find inner connection’ There is nothing quite like a really good massage. Sports, aromatherapy, tui na, chauvutti, deep tissue, on-site massage . The choice of massage treatments on offer these days is vast. It can be daunting to decide which one is best for you. Massage has been around for a very long time. Whatever it’s called or techniques that are employed, civilisation has been benefiting from a healthy healing touch since the dawn of time. First of all ask yourself a simple question. What are you trying to achieve? Do you want to ease out those aches from last Sunday’s football or tennis match? Or are you looking for a bit of peace in the ever frantic world we live in? Massage is one of the few passive relaxation activities. Once the initial consultation has been completed, as a client, the only thing you need to communicate is if something is uncomfortable. A tried and tested method to find a therapist is to get a recommendation. People love sharing good restaurants, wine, books, movies and believe it or not, massage therapists. If you’re a complete massage novice think about trying a 20 min on-site massage. All the work is done over your clothes and it’ll leave you feeling alert, stress free and ready to face the rest of your day. If you’re sore, tired, stressed out or are looking for a few moments of peace massage will provide the antidote.

Grumpy but gorgeous is a pamper and spa party company covering London and the whole England and wales. Grumpy but gorgeous specialises in organizing and planning a teen birthday party birthday party is completely different to arranging normal birthday party for kids. The teens have high expectations of their teenage birthday parties with unusual themes and ideas that are radical. Moreover, often in a majority of cases the teenagers have unclear ideas of their birthday party for kids, which may change with their adolescent mood swings. The children in their teens aim to impress their friends with lavish parties full of music, dance, and food. Good planning should always be done to make the birthday party for your kids a success which would leave everlasting memories on the minds of the guests. This is where Grumpy BUt Gorgeous can help! For ensuring that the kids are totally enthralled by the party scene the teen birthday parties should be based on strategic themes such as some of the popular cultures like spa, pampering and beauty parties, Pop Stars, Hollywood, cartoons, and other similar characters, Limos are also very popular these days. The point to be noted is that the theme showcases the taste of the hosts, hence the theme should be selected that engages the birthday party kids and get their excitement levels high. The themes of the teenage birthday parties should be clearly conveyed to the list of invitees. The invitation cards should be designed so as to be a preview of the real thing with clear instructions of the dress code to be carried at the birthday party. When the guests arrive the party place – either home or the rented space should be camouflaged with decorations that show and tell the birthday party theme themselves. The parents too should dress themselves in the party dresses so that the children feel comfortable and get a sense of belonging at the party scene. Teenager birthday parties always give the parents and organizers jitters as the teenage age group is notoriously hard to please and an over consumption of television programs and computer games have added to this. However, the birthday party ideas easily come from the things that the modern day kids are addicted to such as popular TV shows, cartoon characters, super heroes, et al. Even planning the games around the central theme would cause the fun quotient to rise considerably among the kids and if they are teenagers, music and dance would lit up their spirits anytime. When arranging for surprise teen birthday parties it is suggested to take professional help and call birthday party for kids organizers who supply all the requirements for a fabulous birthday party. The professionals have significant experience and expertise in making such parties a success as their sources are the reliable kids who have been satisfied on their birthdays. Some of the best practices to make teenage birthday parties a massive hit among your kids are: 1) The food should be great and always there. The teens, are always hungry at this age, as their growth hormones kick in in excitement. 2) The teenager should be the chief focus of the party. He or she should be asked all sorts of questions such as what they want, where they want, how they want, and whom they want to be invited. 3) Keep your distance at the party since teens are often embarrassed by their parents and their funny, old-fashioned ways. However, be sure and not leave entirely unless you want to run the risk of your house resembling a riot area. 4) Since it is your teen's birthday, easy up on the rules a wee bit so he thinks the day is special. Allow the music to be a bit loud and hope your neighbors understand. Grumpy But Gorgeous professionally arranges for the needs of organizing birthday party for kids. With experience in handling numerous teen birthday parties we have gained significant expertise in delivering teenage birthday parties for your kids.

We recognise that there is a demand for clean, basic and inexpensive accommodation and we fulfil these criteria while adding friendliness and a bit of character into the mix.

Our founder was Hilda Porter, a Methodist Missionary, who started the organisation after returning to post-war Britain from the Far East, upon discovering that London did not really offer a secure environment for foreign students to live whilst studying in the Capital. Since 1998 we have occupied Euston House, a handsome building in Euston Street just a few minutes walk from Euston station. In addition, we operate AA 4-star hotel. Each room is a double en-suite with LCD tv, climate control, tea/coffee facilities, Broadband access, hypo-allergenic bedding, safe, hair dryer and double glazed VELUX windows. From a conference perspective we offer 15 meeting rooms of various sizes. From 120 delegates to 2, we can accommodate a wide variety of meetings, seminars, training courses and AGMs. The rooms all come with basic AV equipment and we can provide PA systems, laptops, projectors and teleconferencing facilities. Our Atrium Lounge is a perfect area to relax, catch up on some e-mails or have a 1-to1 meeting over a coffee and light snack. It is adjacent to the Atrium Restaurant which serves a varied hot buffet to our conference guests. It is also where breakfast is served and in addition we can accommodate private dinners for up to 100 guests. Overall, MIC is a great place to come to in London for your leisure or business needs. In addition, as a Member of our Club, you will receive a substantial discount on accommodation, meetings (if you are a private company), and food and drink from the Atrium. With membership, you will also be free to enter thewesley and use the Atrium lounge to meet business contacts or spend some time in comfort while you wait for the train. Mission Statement To provide hospitality to guests in a welcoming and Christian environment.
