Do you hate taking your beloved instrument to a bass shop to be repaired and they charge you loads of money to be unfriendly and not do a very good job? I did, so I started collecting the tools and the knowledge to do it myself. The things I've done: - Reset and dowelled the neck after it was broken on a flight to Ireland in 2008. - Replaced the spike assembly and wire. - Removed the old cheap fingerboard and replaced it with a fine ebony one. Made a new ebony nut to go with it and cut the bridge down to improve the action. - During a long-distance flight the soundpost came through the front. Ouch! So I took off the front, fixed it and put the front back on :) - I also built my own electric stick bass from scratch for my GCSE Technology project - see video. My bass & I have rocked out Glastonbury and Secret Garden Party this summer and she sounds and plays awesome! She's a lot better than she was before! I only use the proper animal hide glue, have the specialist clamps to do the job, use expert carpenters and cabinet makers as consultants, am willing to work to your budget and always offer a friendly service. I offer free home-consultations* (none of us wants to carry our bass about if we can avoid it) and will always be honest if I think something is beyond my capabilities. So you really have nothing to lose by asking. As the hide glue takes a few days to set, in some cases I can even offer a replacement bass while repairs are undertaken. Got back-pain from carrying your bass around on your back? I did too, thats why I invented the BassSkate(TM). Its changed my life and it could change yours too. Each one made bespoke to fit your bass & case. Brendan's Bass Shop can also repair your case for you. We also offer custom paint jobs. All other string instruments looked at too. Having played double bass for 24 years and been professional for 10 years, I fully understand the challenges of a working bassist. *You will have to drop your bass off in Hackney in order for me to work on it.

We then pack it into a toasted sugarshack stack with gorgeous greens, succulent tomato, refreshing summer slaw and our roast garlic and avocado dressings. It’s a club sandwich the like of which you've never had before and we are bringing Tallulah and the Sugarshack magic to Homerton!
