Storkyrkan, officially named Sankt Nikolai kyrka and informally called Stockholms domkyrka, is the oldest church in Gamla stan, the old town in central Stockholm, Sweden. It is an important example of Swedish Brick Gothic. Situated next to the Royal Palace, it forms the western end of Slottsbacken, the major approach to the Royal Palace, while the streets Storkyrkobrinken, Högvaktsterrassen, and Trångsund passes north and west of it respectively. South of the church is the Stockholm Stock Exchange Building facing Stortorget and containing the Swedish Academy, Nobel Library, and Nobel Museum.

Maria Magdalena Church is a church on Södermalm in central Stockholm, Sweden.The church plan has a nave but no aisles. In its eastern end is a three-sided choir and the transept taking up three bays. In the corners of the crossing are enlargement from various periods, all serving liturgical purposes, including the sacristy. The painting of the high altar is the Adoration of the Shepherds by Louis Masreliez from around 1800. The pulpit, the Baroque design of Carl Johan Cronstedt, was inaugurated in 1763 and carries a medallion with the portrait of Mary Magdalene. The front of the organ was designed by Carl Fredrik Adelcrantz in 1774 while the present 50-stop organ is from 1927. A second organ was added in 1986 and in the choir is a third smaller organ.The baptismal font dates back to 1638 and among the sacramental vessels which survived the fire in 1759, is the oldest effects of the church - a sacramental pan in copper with capital inscriptions. Among the epitaphs in the church are one dedicate to Christopher Polhem and another to Carl Michael Bellman. Under the church are older sepulchral chambers, the burial chapel of which today serves parishes of the Estonian-Finnish Orthodox Church and the Russian Orthodox Church.

Skatteskrapan is a 26-storey, 86m building in Stockholm, Sweden. It is located at Götgatan 76 in the district of Södermalm, in a block named Gamen . With an initial height of 81 metres and 25 floors, it was the tallest building in Sweden from its completion in 1959 to 1964 when it was surpassed by the 84 metres tall Dagens Nyheter Tower.The building was designed by the architect Paul Hedqvist for the Swedish National Tax Board . It served as the office of the Tax Board until 2003, when it was decided by then mayor of Stockholm Annika Billström that the building was to be rebuilt on the inside to turn the building into student apartments. Svenska Bostäder took over ownership of the building from its former host Vasakronan on 29 December 2003. In 2008 the building was bought by AP Fastigheter that merged shortly after with Vasakronan. The building is protected as a cultural landmark by the city of Stockholm, which means it can't be rebuilt on the outside.The rebuilt skyscraper, which was built by Skanska now has room for 415 student apartments as well as office and conference apartments on the top floors. In connection to the rebuilt scraper, a new seven floor-building was built aside with 61 student apartments and 19 rented apartments. On the first and second floors of the skyscraper, and in the side building, there is room for shops and restaurants. The official name of the new building complex is now Skrapan .

Den gröne Jägaren is a bar and restaurant at Götgatan 64 in Södermalm, Stockholm, Sweden. It began at a small tavern in the 1600s at Sankt Paulsgatan, near Van der Nootska Palace. It is said that Jacob Johan Anckarström ate his dinner at the Den gröne Jägaren on March 16, 1792 before he went to the Gustavian Opera House to shoot the king Gustav III.Today's restaurant is located on the ground floor of Hellgrenska Palace and was built in 1866. On the façade there is the classic flag sign with a green clad hunter with his gun. It is described as having some of the cheapest beer in the capital.

Kastellet is a small citadel located on the islet Kastellholmen in central Stockholm, Sweden.HistoryThe first fortification on the location was built in 1667 designed by Erik Dahlbergh. It exploded in June 1845 and subsequently a new was built 1846-1848 to the design of architect Fredrik Blom. It consists of a round tower with red brick walls and a 20 meter high stair tower. On the top flies the Military Ensign of Sweden, it is hoisted and lowered every day, indicating the nation is at peace.On May 17, 1996, the Norwegian Constitution Day, some Norwegian expats raised the Norwegian flag in the tower. Though such an action would historically have been taken as a declaration of war, a diplomatic crisis could be avoided.

Located in the southernmost corner of the old town, the square connects the thoroughfares Västerlånggatan and Österlånggatan, while the two alleys, Södra Bankogränd and Norra Bankogränd, stretches east to connect the square to Skeppsbron, and two other alleys, Järntorgsgatan and Triewaldsgränd, leads south to Slussplan and Kornhamnstorg respectively.The second oldest square in Stockholm, slightly younger than Stortorget, Järntorget dates back to around 1300 and remained the city's most important trade centre for centuries — constantly busy and crowded, scents and noise intermixing while goods were transported from shore to shore across the square and up and down the attics of the surrounding buildings.
