The British Academy is the UK's national champion of the humanities and social sciences.
As a Fellowship of distinguished scholars and researchers from all areas of the humanities and social sciences, we promote these disciples and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and ideas.
We fund research across the UK and internationally, and seek to raise understanding of some of the biggest challenges of our time through policy reports, forums, conferences, publications and public events.

The conference aims to bridge the gap between academic research and practitioners by bringing speakers together, who have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in how the brain works; what motivates us as individuals; and how our thoughts and feelings impact on our behaviour.
This conference promises to be something very new and different from anything else. The theme is Coaching and delegates will be able to develop their understanding of how client-centred learning raises awareness and builds responsibility in drivers and is therefore critical to road safety.

Our mission is promoting environmental thinking – reduce, reuse, recycle – in early childhood providing environmental education and interactive program series for children aged 3 – 8 years.
Our goal is to call their attention to the importance of environmental awareness and taking care of our planet.
We have performances for little children focusing on the importance of environment. Our puppets made from recycled materials teach them in a funny, interactive way that all of them can do something for the environment.
We organise eco-friendly handicraft activities for the children and their parents/carers showing them how to recycle everyday items.

The research of staff, and associated research students, falls within three intersecting themes:
+ HUMANS AND OTHER PRIMATES
+ HUMAN-ANIMAL-NATURE INTERRELATIONS
+ LIFE, HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
MUSICART offers children of Primary School age the space to create in this unique ART and MUSIC Workshop.
The children will have the time and space to explore whichever type of Art project takes their fancy and by using many different crafts will discover and enjoy this space to create. They will receive help with their projects from a team of experienced artists and designers but will be encouraged to come up with their own ideas.
They will also learn some great songs which will be remembered long after the course is finished - and will have the opportunity to form the MUSICART Band to play along at our concert at the end of the MUSICART Course.
At the end of MUSICART the children will take home Artwork they are proud of - and a load of happy memories!
