Nestled in the heart of Mayfair just off historic Berkeley Sq, The Only Running Footman is a pub that recalls the days when aristocrats’ carriages were preceded by manservants on foot, whose duties included carrying lights after dusk and paying toll-keepers. The Georgian aristocrats of Mayfair employed a large number of these men, who used to meet at a tavern known as the Running Horse in Charles Street, now The Only Running Footman.
The full name is actually ‘I Am The Only Running Footman’ and has been the venue for many a historic London pub crawl, treasure hunt, mystery tour and even a novel by American detective fiction writer Martha Grimes.
Set in the heart of Bayswater and only a stone’s throw from Hyde Park, The Mitre is a beautiful grade II listed building from 1850 which is popular with locals and tourists alike.

Come and enjoy our relaxed and casual atmosphere where we serve fab food, a selection of real English ales, plus beers from around the world and a wine list to match anyone’s palate.

Surrounded by the ornate Victorian architecture of Marylebone Village, it's fair to say, at The Prince Regent we're not shy of a bit of grandeur. We share the same fondness for flamboyance that back in his day the Prince Regent himself insisted upon. From statement chandeliers to extravagant gold-framed mirrors and over-sized artwork, we're loyal to the old adage that bigger is better. And this extends all the way to the superlative selection of drinks served from our original bar.
When it comes to pubs in Marylebone, The Prince Regent can't be surpassed for its encyclopaedic drinks range, fresh, seasonal food and offbeat charm. In fact, we think it's among the best places to eat and drink in London. Come and lay claim to one of our cosy corners and settle in for a session at a proper local.
The Prince Regent is within easy reach of Soho, Regent's Park or Paddington, and we're also near Madame Tussauds and Oxford Street, making us ideal for a spot of lunch or dinner while you're out and about.

We can also accommodate tour groups of up to 50 people in this room. If your group is larger, then our spacious and inviting upstairs main bar can seat 150 people.
