The Royal Pharmaceutical Society is the body responsible for the leadership and support of the pharmacy profession within England, Scotland and Wales. It was created along with the General Pharmaceutical Council in September 2010 when the previous Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain was split so that representative and regulatory functions of the pharmacy profession could be separated. Although membership of the Society is not a prerequisite for engaging in practice as a pharmacist within the United Kingdom, most practising pharmacists opt to join the Society because of the benefits offered by membership. Its predecessor the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain was founded on 15 April 1841.MembershipThe Society currently offers five categories of membership: Member Full membership is available to anyone who has ever been registered as a pharmacist in Great Britain, whether or not currently registered with the GPhC. Fellow Fellowship may be conferred by the Society’s Panel of Fellows on pharmacists who have been members of the Society for at least 12 years and who have been deemed to have made outstanding original contributions to the advancement of pharmaceutical knowledge or to have attained distinction in the science, practice, profession or history of pharmacy. Associate Associate membership is open to two categories of person: (a) those registered elsewhere in the world who have never been registered in Britain; (b) those who have a recognised degree in pharmacy but have not yet registered as a pharmacist in Britain, either because they are still undergoing their preregistration training or because they are not working in a field of practice that requires registration with the GPhC. Student Student membership is available to anyone studying for a degree in pharmacy at any institute recognised by the Society (in Britain or overseas). Pharmaceutical Scientist Pharmacist scientist membership is available to anyone with a degree (or equivalent) in a subject related to pharmacy who has worked for at least two years in a recognised area of the pharmaceutical sciences.

City Clinic of Osteopathic Medicine
Distance: 0.5 mi Tourist Information
Studio 13, Hills Chambers, 64 West Smithfield
London, United Kingdom EC1A 9DY

02077960095

Consultant Osteopathic physician and Neuromusculoskeletal Pain Specialist Xerxes Dalal D.O. was first attracted to a career as an osteopath when a traumatic knee injury prevented him playing any sport. As a highly competitive young man his determination to compete on the sports field led him to seek out therapies that would cure and alleviate his pain and allow the body to restore itself to normal function. His journey started on that first visit to see an osteopath. Xerxes qualified from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Osteopathic Medicine and a Diploma in Naturopathic Medicine. He has worked in private practice in Cambridge, Manchester, Harley Street and the Square Mile where he has honed his craft over the last 15 years. Having established the City Clinic of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002, Xerxes took on the greatest challenge of his career. To provide the highest standards of osteopathic healthcare to the City’s diverse, dedicated and demanding work force. Twelve years later the practice is thriving, taken on associates and continues to provide excellence in osteopathic medicine. Never one to rest on his laurels, Xerxes has recently joined the reputable Ashdown Clinic in Potters Bar, keen to bring his expertise to the local community and support people on their journey back to health. Passionate about healthcare and providing patients with the highest standard of osteopathic manipulative therapy for a range of neuromusculoskeletal and general health conditions, Xerxes combines spinal, peripheral joint and visceral manipulation with deep tissue neuromuscular massage to provide each patient with a unique holistic healing experience. Osteopathy addresses imbalances from physical and emotional (psychosomatic) trauma and is a system of manual medicine which recognizes the important link between the structure of the body and the way it functions. We look at your whole body when we treat you. Osteopathy looks at everything from the muscular system, the skeletal system including the joints, the blood supply, the nerve supply, your connective tissues as well as the internal organs and how all of those work as a holistic unit. Xerxes feels very lucky to be able to do what he loves and is dedicated to providing each and every patient with the best hands on primary care to stimulate and accelerate the body's innate ability to heal, repair and regenerate as well as knowledge and understanding about their condition as he believes prevention is always better than cure. He believes Osteopathy is a system of medicine based on maintaining health and treating the whole person, body and mind. Our focus is always health, not just treating disease.
